Coalition talks with sixteen working groups

(de-news.net) – The CDU, CSU, and SPD have finalized their negotiation teams for coalition talks commencing tomorrow. Sixteen working groups, comprising 256 federal and state policy experts, will be established, alongside a steering committee. The negotiations, expected to span ten days, aim to draft a potential joint government program for a black-red coalition, building on preliminary agreements from exploratory talks. However, consensus with the Greens on a multi-billion-euro financial package remains unresolved, as their approval is crucial for the two-thirds majority required to amend the Basic Law. Discussions between the Greens, the CDU, CSU, and SPD continue today.
